Houston we have a problem, or two.

I`ll begin by saying this. Make sure you have a kitchen fire extinguisher in your kitchen. (I`m not being redundant, I mean make sure you have a fire extinguisher that is appropriate for were your using it) They are cheap and work.

Next, practice how to use the thing. I`ve worked many years in a restaurant and I can calmly deal with fires, I`ve had many in my life (oh and get TONS of those in autobody too) . However a fire at work is way different than a fire in your own house. I discovered this tonight, and I was still calm but I yanked the extinguishers off the wall, and then looked at an odd pin assembly I`d never seen b4 on a extinguishers. YOU DON`T HAVE TIME TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS NOW !!!. this is also why it`s important to practice and know ahead of time. I`ve been trained for small fires and what extinguishers do what and were, but in the moment, I don`t have a clue if I need a "A" "B" or a "C" .....

All turned out well. Tons of smoke, absolutely no damage. BIG big mess, black everywhere, house stinks, my supper was ruined, managed to keep the alarm company from calling fire department, my heart stopped but alls good... till....

Till...............

I decided to put the bench together and see if I`d gotten it right. Well, let me tell you, not so much fun when your on the second last piece and you notice a plank off to the side of the organized stack your working on, looking at the piece you realize it`s number 6 and you gotta go almost half way backwards..... Now I ask, were is the fire?

So I get the thing together. I made an effort NOT to look at the pattern as I worked on the assembly, (could that be how I had to return to the middle once and start there again?)
Well I get it together despite the huge alignment on the cast (that I hadn`t taken care of yet....) Well my heart sank....

I was soooooooooooo disappointed in the pattern. Still am but I know how to fix it on the next one if there was ever to be a next one. And I got tons of ideas from it. I want to try a different style of bench, and maybe build one from scratch... who knows.

Total kick in my ass, I complained about how I used the wrong wood, tonight it dawned on me, I was trying not to spend money on this thing, if i`d used the orriginal wood and cut it down and planed it, it woulda cost me NOTHING almost, besides time and W&T.

I`m tied up with a paid project now and so....
